Der Sprachen Hub German Language Academy has certified a new group of learners who successfully passed the internationally recognized ECL German language exams, marking the beginning of new education and job opportunities across the world.

The certification ceremony, held in Kigali on 19 April 2026, brought together candidates who completed exams at B1, B2, and C1 levels under the European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (ECL). For many graduates, the achievement represents a major step toward studying, working, and building careers abroad, especially in Germany.
Speaking during the event, successful candidates shared how the certificates are already shaping their future plans.
Egide Ntihinyuzwa, who earned a B1 certificate, said learning German required discipline and focus but has now opened new doors for him.
โGerman is like any other language, it requires commitment, time, and consistency. What helped me succeed was the quality training we received and proper preparation,โ he said.
He added that his interest in the language was driven by the opportunities available abroad.
โI saw a friend move to Germany and realized there are many opportunities, especially in education. That motivated me to start learning,โ he said.
Ornella Mugisha, also a B1 graduate, highlighted the importance of structured learning.
โI started learning in August last year and later took the ECL exam. The availability of learning materials and continuous support from teachers helped me pass,โ she said.
For Divine Mugeni, who obtained a B2 certificate, the success came after persistence.
โI had taken the exam before at another institution but didnโt pass. I continued studying, and after joining Der Sprachen Hub, I succeeded,โ she said.
She now plans to pursue medical studies in Germany, citing better opportunities and access to affordable education.
The Chief Executive Officer ย of Der Sprachen Hub, Mwizerwa.M, said the availability of ECL exams in Rwanda is changing the lives of many young people.
โFor a long time, students had to travel abroad to sit for these exams, which was expensive and delayed their plans. Now they can get internationally recognized certificates here at home,โ he said.

He emphasized that the ECL certificate is widely accepted by German institutions and plays a key role in university admissions, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
Mwizerwa also warned learners against enrolling in unqualified institutions that promise quick results.
โPeople are being misled into believing that paying less will help them learn more. In reality, when you invest little in your education, you gain very little, and that affects your performance,โ he said.
โThere are institutions that promise quick fluency or guaranteed success. These claims are deceptive and harmful to learners,โ he added.
Since being licensed in December 2025, Der Sprachen Hub has seen growing demand for German language certification. The number of candidates has increased significantly, with the April 2026 session recording about 224 exam units, more than double the previous session.
The introduction of the A2 level has also expanded access for beginner learners, allowing more people to start their journey toward international opportunities.
Participants from neighboring countries, including Burundi, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Cameroon, have also traveled to Kigali to take the exams, further positioning Rwanda as a regional hub for German language certification.
With registration for the next exam session in June already open, more learners are expected to take advantage of this opportunity.
As graduates celebrate their success, the message is internationally recognized German language certificates are becoming a powerful tool for unlocking global education and employment opportunities.
