💫🇷🇼 The Kids’ Talent Competition is Back! 🎶🖌️✨ Now Returning for Its 8th Edition! 🌟🎤🎨

As primary and secondary students across Rwanda get ready for their first-term holiday, a popular annual tradition is returning an exciting talent competition that helps children under 18 discover and grow their abilities.

🌟 Little Stars on Stage! 🎤💃 Rwanda’s young talents shining with confidence and joy. 🇷🇼✨

The event is organized by Assiati Mukobwajana, a journalist at Isango Star. Over the years, the competition has become an important platform that gives children confidence and promotes their rights through the TV program “Uburenganzira bw’Umwana” (Children’s Rights).
This year marks the 8th edition.

🎉 The competition will take place on December 20 and 27, 2025, and the grand finale where the winners will receive their prizes is planned for January 3, 2026.

Children will compete in several categories:

  • ✍️ Writing and Reading in Kinyarwanda
  • 🎤 Singing
  • 🎶 Playing musical instruments
  • 💃 Dancing
  • 🎨 Drawing
  • 🗣️ Poetry and Spoken Word
    And more.

The event is open to all boys and girls under 18, giving them a safe space to express themselves, have fun, and show what they can do.

🌱 This year’s theme is:
“Ijwi ry’Umwana mu Kurengera Ibidukikije” – “The Child’s Voice in Environmental Protection.”

Participants in drawing and poetry has encouraged to create pieces that speak about caring for the environment and protecting nature.

🎯 Purpose of the Competition

When this competition first started, its goal was to:

Help children discover and use their talents

Give them a fun and educational experience during the holidays

Build their self-confidence

Encourage them to speak up in meaningful and positive ways

Assiati and the Isango Star team continue to support children’s rights by offering them a platform where they can learn, express themselves, and grow.
