In many Muslim communities, women feel more comfortable receiving medical care from female doctors. This is especially important for services related to womenβs health. Because of Islamic beliefs and cultural values, some women delay going to the hospital when only male doctors are available. To solve this challenge, the Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC) has started working closely with health facilities to make sure Muslim women can get the care they need in a respectful and comfortable way.π€

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Office of the Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MBC Hospital, located in Nyarugenge District. This agreement aims to ensure that Muslim women receive medical services from female health professionals, in line with Islamic beliefs and cultural values.
The signing ceremony was attended by religious leaders, hospital management, and members of the Muslim community. The agreement marks an important step in improving access to healthcare for Muslim women, especially those who have faced difficulties seeking treatment because of cultural and religious concerns.
Under this partnership, MBC Hospital has committed to providing female doctors and nurses to attend to Muslim women whenever possible. This Expect to help women feel safe, respected, and confident when seeking medical services.
